Frederick (Bud) Shuler, MD, is a board-certified vascular surgeon and the president and managing partner of Vascular Associates, LLC in Panama City and Panama City Beach, Florida. As a vein and vascular expert, he is experienced in minimally invasive treatments of venous and arterial diseases. As part of the multispecialty group, North Florida Surgeons, Dr. Shuler collaborates with many trusted surgeons throughout Florida and works with the most up to date technology available.
Dr. Shuler received his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, and completed his internship and residency training in general surgery at Atlanta Medical Center (formerly Georgia Baptist Medical Center), where he served as chief resident. He also furthered his education by completing fellowships in laparoscopic surgery at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and vascular surgery at Atlanta Medical Center.
His talent and passion for the treatment of venous disease, in addition to his experience as a fellowship-trained vascular surgeon specializing in veins, make him one of the most sought after physicians in the panhandle of Florida. In addition to his practice duties, Dr. Shuler also serves on the Coding and Reimbursement Committee for the American College of Phlebology (Vein Specialist) and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also actively involved in numerous committees in the medical community.
On top of his service to the community, Dr. Shuler also served in the United States Air Force as a general and combat surgeon when he was deployed to Afghanistan from 2001-2002. He is active in several professional organizations and has appeared in numerous publications, abstracts, and presentations throughout his practice history.
